Air Door Actuator / Motor: Service and Repair
Left Side Vent Motor

Left Side Vent Motor

‹› On vehicles with "Basic" version front A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255), the flaps for left and right side vents as well as flaps

for left and right center vents are operated by Left Side Vent Motor (V299) (left and right flaps are connected to each other respectively via a
shaft, both shafts are connected to a lever) => [ Air Duct in Front Heating and A/C Unit ] See: Description and Operation/Air Ducts in and to
Front and Rear Heating and A/C Unit.

‹› Left Side Vent Motor Position Sensor (G164) is installed in Left Side Vent Motor (V299). 

‹› Motor is secured to a retaining plate, this retaining plate can then only be removed and installed with the instrument panel installed when bolts -  C

- are not tightened too tightly => [ Retaining plate with Defroster Flap Motor , Left Side Vent Motor and Left Center Vent Motor ] See: Retaining
plate with Defroster Flap Motor , Left Side Vent Motor and Left Center Vent Motor. Since on the other hand the connection of the lever on the
control motors to the levers on the flaps cannot be checked with the instrument panel installed, it makes sense to remove the instrument panel and
remove and install the control motor with the retaining plate installed, despite the great amount of work involved to remove and install this control
motor.

Left Side Vent Motor (V299) - instrument panel removed, removing and installing

Removing

Remove instrument panel.

Remove bolts - E - from Left Side Vent Motor (V299) - D -, remove motor.

Disconnect connector - F - from motor - B  -.
