6.1 Seat/mirror memory - "Car Memory"
If the "seat/mirror memory" function in the "Car Memory" is set to "when car is unlocked" or to "when door is opened",
the seat position individually set by the customer will be stored in the control unit, together with the number of the key
with remote control with which the vehicle was unlocked. The stored seat position will be reactivated when the car is
unlocked using that key with remote control. The manner in which the seat is positioned depends on the above
setting.
A key-specific seat adjustment is not possible if "inactive" is selected.
The "mirror memory" function is not currently available on E46 vehicles.
The seat memory function by pressing the button on the seat operates independently of the "Car and Key Memory"
settings.
6.2 Heating/air conditioning/ventilation - "Key Memory"

Individually selected settings on the air conditioner control panel are allocated to the key with which the car was
unlocked using the remote control. An initial setting by the dealer is not necessary. The settings for "individual air
distribution" (1), "automatic air distribution" (2) and temperature and blower speed (3) are stored specifically for
the customer (see figure).
7.0 Marking a key with remote control
Different settings can be stored on up to 4 keys with remote control. To differentiate between the different keys, they
should be marked on the reverse with coloured labels. These labels are supplied with the vehicle on delivery.
Alternatively, they can be ordered under BMW part number 66 12 8 381 059 via the usual parts ordering channels.
In the interests of a standard differentiation between keys with remote control, the following colour marking is
