Removing and installing cylinder head (M51)
Remove battery cover.
Note instructions on removing and disconnecting battery,
refer to General Information HG 12
Disconnect ground wire from battery.
Removing fan wheel with fan coupling,
refer to 11 52 020
Removing intake air manifold,
refer to 11 61 050
Removing injection lines: this operation is described in section
removing fuel injection pump,
refer to 13 51 000
Drain and dispose of coolant.
Installation:
Replace seal.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 11 5AZ
Bleeding cooling system and checking for water leaks,
refer to 17 00 039
Unfasten coolant hose between cylinder head and radiator on
cylinder head.
Loosen the coolant line from the thermostat housing.
