5 Series E34 525td (M51) TOUR
Unfasten cylinder head bolts from outside to inside in following
sequence 14 ... 1.

Remove cylinder head.
-
Remove cylinder head gasket.
Installation:
Installation of cylinder head is described separately from removal.
Assembly sequence differs between removal and installation.
Note:
The mark on the chain wheel on the injection pump must point
upwards. If not, rotate crankshaft through another complete
revolution.
(crankshaft ratio: injection pump = 2 : 1)
Caution!
Marking is only visible until cylinder head is fitted.
Caution!
If the crankshaft has to be turned one complete turn when
cylinder head is fitted, first remove camshaft,
refer to 11 31 001
