5 Series E34 525td (M51) TOUR
Rotate engine from 30
°
before TDC position enginewise to TDC
position.
Secure crankshaft in TDC position with special tool 11 2 300.
Caution!
Remove special tool 11 2 300 before starting engine.
Fit timing chain to sprocket wheel.
Fit screw with no clearance (still able to turn).
Locating faces must be clean and free of grease.
Fit special tool 11 3 360 to chain bow cover and press in the
chain tensioner.
Remove special tool 11 3 340 and slowly relieve tension on
chain tensioner.
