5 Series E34 525td (M51) TOUR
Set crankshaft in cylinder 1 position to 26
°
before TDC.
(Disk brake points to crankshaft and marking on the oil pump).
Secure injection pump to centre of long bores.
Move injection pump shaft to initial position of cylinder 1 with
special tool 13 5 062.
(The lever must stand upright in front of the protruding cam).
Fit 80 link chain on injection pump sprocket wheel to small crown
wheel. Fit 74 link chain on injection pump sprocket wheel to large
crown wheel and to crankshaft sprocket wheel.
Caution!
Version with a mark on the injection pump sprocket.
The chain with 74 links has copper-plated external links at two
points each of which has a mark which aligns with a tooth on
the crankshaft or injection pump sprocket.
