Replacing fuel filter unit (M67)
Caution!
Turn off ignition.
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
After work has been completed, the fuel system must be vented
between the tank and the high-pressure pump!
If the feed line to the high-pressure pump is not vented after work
has been completed, this may result in the pump running dry and
being damaged.
Note:
To prevent damaging the H.P. pump, it is absolutely essential to
vent the fuel presupply system, refer to 13 31 015.
Press locking springs (1) and at same time disconnect fuel lines.
Disconnect fuel lines.
Disconnect plug (2).
Detach fuel line (3) from retaining clips.
Release nuts (4).
Remove fuel filter unit (5).
Detach fuel filter (1) from filter unit (2).
Note:
If the fuel filter (1) is seated too tightly, use special tool 11 4
650.
Tightening torque,
refer to text on fuel filter.
