Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair
Power Steering Cooler Pipe Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. .
2. Place a drain pan under the power steering fluid reservoir and gear.
3. Siphon the fluid from the reservoir to prevent excessive spillage.
4. Remove the front fascia.
5. Remove the cooling pipe retaining clips (1) from the crossmember and from in the engine compartment (3).
6. Remove the power steering fluid gear outlet hose at the reservoir.
7. Raise and support the vehicle.
8. Reposition the Electronic Brake Traction Control Module/Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (EBTCM/BPMV) assembly to access the power
steering fluid cooling pipe connections. Opening of the brake hydraulic system and removal of the EBTCM/BPMV assembly is not necessary to
reposition.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Remove the power steering fluid cooling pipe.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the power steering fluid cooling pipe.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Position the EBTCM/BPMV assembly.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Install the power steering fluid gear outlet hose at the reservoir.
6. Install the cooling pipe retaining clips to the crossmember (1) and in the engine compartment (3).
7. Install the front fascia.
8. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
9. Reprogram applicable accessories.
10. Bleed the power steering system.
