9. Remove the hose clamp for the gear outlet hose/power steering fluid cooling pipe connection.
10. Remove the gear outlet hose from the power steering fluid cooling pipe.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the gear outlet hose to the power steering fluid cooling pipe.
2. Install the hose clamp to the gear outlet hose/power steering fluid cooling pip connection.
NOTICE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners
requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use
paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint
clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid
damage to parts and systems.

Tighten the hose clamp until snug.
3. Install the heat shield to the EBTCM/BPMV assembly.

Tighten the heat shield bolts for the EBTCM/BPMV assembly to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Install the gear inlet hose (1) with a new O-ring to the power steering pump.

Tighten the gear inlet hose connection at the power steering pump to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
6. Fill the reservoir with DEXRON(R) III automatic transmission fluid, GM P/N 12346143, or equivalent.
7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
8. Reprogram applicable accessories.
9. Bleed the power steering system.
