Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair
On-Vehicle Service

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Open the rear door.
2. Lay the rear seat backs forward to allow access to the upper shock absorber mount.

3. Remove the rubber protective cap from the shock absorber tower.
4. Remove the upper shock absorber mount nut.
5. Remove the upper mounting washer.
6. Remove the upper mounting grommet. 

CAUTION:  To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle at the opposite end
from which components are being removed. This will reduce the possibility of the vehicle falling off the hoist.

7. Raise and support the vehicle. 

8. Remove the Automatic Level Control (ALC) air line connection from the shock absorber.
