6. Remove the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod.

Important:  Note the number of turns during removal for installation.

Installation Procedure 

1. Install the outer tie rod to the inner tie rod. Do not tighten the jam nut at this time.

Important:  Use the same number of turns that was used during removal.

2. Connect the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle.

Notice:  Install the outer tie rod retaining nut.

Tighten the nut to 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.).

3. Install the tire and wheel.  
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Adjust the front toe. Refer to Front Toe Adjustment in Wheel Alignment.
