Front Door Interior Handle: Service and Repair

Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer toFront Side Door Trim Panel Replacement  See: Front Door Panel/Service and Repair

2. Remove the fastener (1) attaching the inside door handle (2) to the door trim panel.
3. Remove the door handle from the door trim panel by sliding the handle towards the front of the vehicle.
4. Remove the door handle from the door handle linkage.

Installation Procedure

1. Insert the inside door handle rod (1) into the hole in the door handle assembly (2).
2. Rotate the assembly up towards the front of the vehicle.
3. Slide the assembly (2) towards the rear of the vehicle to engage the three tabs.

Notice:  Refer toFastener Notice   in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the door handle fastener.

Tighten the fastener to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

5. Install the door trim panel. Refer toFront Side Door Trim Panel Replacement  See: Front Door Panel/Service and Repair
