Timing Cover: Service and Repair
ENGINE FRONT COVER
Front Cover Assembly
RTV Sealant Application
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Engine coolant.
3. R/H cross car brace and coolant reservoir.
4. Serpentine belt.
5. Water pump pulley.
6. Water pump.
7. Raise vehicle on hoist.
8. Crankshaft damper.
9. Front cover (nine bolts).
CLEAN

Gasket material and sealant from front cover, water pump sealing surfaces and oil pan.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New front cover and inlet gaskets.
IMPORTANT
^
Put a bead of RTV on the front cover lip on the oil pan sealing surface. This bead must be placed along the front cover lip behind the two oil
