Removal Procedure
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging) .
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LHD) (See: Starting and
Charging/Battery/Battery Cable/Service and Repair)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (RHD) (See: Starting and
Charging/Battery/Battery Cable/Service and Repair) .
3. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 -Vac N Fill Coolant Refill Tool) (See: Engine, Cooling and
Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling
System/Service and Repair) .
4. Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the heater core. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LY7 - Gas, 6 Cylinder, 3.6L, SFI, V6) (See:
Heater Hose/Service and Repair/Heater Inlet Hose Replacement) .
5. Disconnect the outlet heater hose from the heater core. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LY7 - Gas, 6 Cylinder, 3.6L, SFI, V6) (See:
Heater Hose/Service and Repair/Heater Outlet Hose Replacement) .
6. Remove the quick connect fitting (1) from the liquid line. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement (See: Hose/Line
HVAC/Service and Repair/Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement) .
7. Disconnect the A/C liquid line from the evaporator .
8. Remove and discard the O-rings.
9. Remove the quick connect fitting (1) from the suction line. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement (See:
Hose/Line HVAC/Service and Repair/Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement) .
10. Disconnect the A/C suction line from the evaporator.
11. Remove and discard the O-rings.
