12. Remove the nut that fastens the brake cable to the fuel tank bracket near the edge of the fuel tank. Remove the cable from the bracket.
13. Remove the rubber exhaust hangers from their brackets.
14. Remove the nuts which fasten the heat shield above the front muffler.
15. Slide the heat shield forward to expose the equalizer.
