If no cracks are found, install the provided anti-separation plate as shown in Figure 2.

If any cracks are found around the hub area, replace the steering wheel with the steering wheel listed in the Parts section.
NOTE:
The anti-separation plate is not required if the steering wheel is replaced.

Install the provided steering wheel retaining nut. Torque to 45 ft-lbs (61 N.m).
10.
Connect the horn wire and speed control switch wire (if equipped).
11.
Connect the air bag module electrical connector and install the air bag module.
12.
Install the air bag module retaining nuts and tighten to 90 in-lbs (10 N.m).
13.
Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
14.
Check to see that no one is inside the vehicle and then connect the negative battery cable.
15.
From the passenger side of the vehicle, turn the ignition key to the OFF position and then back to the ON position.
16.
Observe the instrument panel air bag lamp. It should go on for six to eight seconds and then go out indicating that the system is functioning
normally.
NOTE:
If the air bag lamp either fails to light, or goes on and stays on, there is a system malfunction. Refer to the Passive Restraint Diagnostic Test
Manual to diagnose and repair the problem.

1991 and 1992 model year Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan; Plymouth Voyager and Grand Voyager; and Chrysler Town & Country (AS)
minivans equipped with a driver's air bag (Sales Code - CGT)

1991 and 1992 model year Dodge Shadow and Plymouth Sundance (AP) vehicles equipped with a 4-cylinder engine and manual transmission

The steering wheel armature on the above listed vehicles, may crack due to fatigue and separate from the center hub attachment to the steering
column. All vehicles must be inspected for armature cracks and all cracked steering wheels must be replaced. An anti-separation plate must be
installed on all steering wheels without cracks to prevent separation if future armature cracking occurs.
