SAFETY RECALL TO INSPECT YOUR VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL
Dear Chrysler Corporation Vehicle Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Chrysler Corporation has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 1991 and 1992 Dodge Caravan and Grand
Caravan; Plymouth Voyager and Grand Voyager; and Chrysler Town & Country minivans equipped with a driver's air bag and some 1991 and 1992
Dodge Shadow and Plymouth Sundance vehicles equipped with a 4-cylinder engine and manual transmission.
The problem is...
The steering wheel on your vehicle (identified on the enclosed form), may crack and separate from the steering column. This could result in an accident.
Prior to separation, the steering wheel will become noticeably loose.
What Chrysler and your dealer will do...
Chrysler will repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will inspect the steering wheel for cracks. If cracks are found,
the steering wheel will be replaced. If no cracks are found, a retainer plate to prevent the potential for future steering wheel separation, will be installed.
The work will take about one half hour to complete. However, additional time may be necessary depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled
and processed and if the steering wheel requires replacement.
What you must do to ensure your safety...

Simply contact your dealer right away to schedule a service appointment. Ask the dealer to hold the parts for your vehicle or to order them before
your appointment.

Bring the enclosed Owner Notification Form with you to your dealer. It explains the required service to your dealer.
