1. Dismantling

Exploded view of piston assembly showing circlips (1), piston rings (2), piston (3), gudgeon pin (4), bearing shell (5), and connecting rod (6).

CAUTION : Mark the orientation of the conrod in relation to the piston.

Remove :

  • The circlips (1), (5)
  • The gudgeon pin (4)
  • The piston ( 3 )
  • The piston rings ( 2 )
  • The bearing shell (6)
  • The connecting rod

Proceed likewise for the other three bearing sets.

2. Refitting

Assembled piston and connecting rod showing stop ring (1), piston rings (2), gudgeon pin (4), bearing shell (5), connecting rod (7), and orientation marks 'a' on piston and 'b' on conrod.

CAUTION : The big end of the conrod at "b" must be positioned on the side of the nozzle cavity on the piston (at " a").

N.B. : The piston ring surfaces marked "TOP" must face upwards.

Oil :

  • The bearing shell (6)
  • The gudgeon pin (4)

Refit :

  • The piston rings ( 2 )
  • The stop ring (1)
  • The connecting rod (7)
