Remove the nuts (7).

Remove the engine management ECU (6) from its mounting (5).

4. Refitting

Fit :

• The engine management ECU (6) on its support (5)
• The nuts (7)

Reposition the engine ECU assembly (6) and its mounting (5).

Connect the connectors "b" and "c".

Lock :

• The levers "a", "d"
• The connectors "b" and "c"; Using the latches "e", "f"

5. Refitting (continued)

Fit :

• The cover (2) of the engine management ECU unit (6)
• The nuts (3)

Retighten the nut (1).

CAUTION : Perform the operations to be carried out following reconnection of the battery.

Connect the battery.

6. Operations to be carried out : After replacing the engine management ECU

low after replacing an engine ECU (6).

CAUTION : Swapping an engine ECU (6) between two vehicles results in it being impossible to start either vehicle.

When changing an engine ECU (6), it is necessary to use the diagnostic tool to run the procedure for replacing an engine ECU (6) from the "replacement part" menu.

Conditions to be met to carry out the procedure :

• Be in possession of the access code to the built-in systems interface (written on the customer's confidential card)
• Be in possession of a new engine ECU (6)
• Use the diagnostic tool

7. Engine management ECU downloading

Updating of the software of the engine ECU (6) is by downloading (Engine ECU (6)) (ECU fitted with a flash EPROM)).

N.B. : This operation is performed using diagnostic equipment.

Perform the downloading of the engine ECU (6) (if necessary).

8. Procedures for returning under warranty

Disconnecting the engine ECU (6) automatically locks it up.

CAUTION : If returning the component under warranty, return the engine ECU (6) together with the access code.
