ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations.

1. Tooling

Equipment : workshop hoist.

2. Removing

Remove :

• The power unit assembly
• The starter motor

Move aside the electrical harnesses attached to the gearbox.
Disconnect the connector from the reverse gear switch.

Remove :

• The 6 bolts (1)
• The gearbox

3. Refitting

CAUTION : Adhere to the tightening torques.

CAUTION : Replace the driveshaft lip seals.

Check for the absence of leaks on the following components :

• Hydraulic clutch stop
• Crankshaft seal
• Input shaft outlet seal

Check the state of wear of the clutch.

Replace the clutch (If necessary).
Clean the input shaft and the stop guide by hand using a wire brush to eliminate any traces of oxidation.
Protect the interior of the clutch housing from splashes of grease.

N.B. : Apply KLUBERPASTE 46MR401 grease evenly to the input shaft.

Remove the surplus grease on the top of the grooves and the end of the input shaft using a cloth.

N.B. : An excess of grease will contaminate the clutch friction plate and cause noise in neutral, slipping or juddering of the clutch.

CAUTION : If the clutch disc is reused, the disc hub must be free of traces of oxidation.
