GEARBOX CONTROL

The gearbox control assembly for 899 - 1108 versions consists of selector lever (8) and cables (5) and (6).

Lever (8) is fitted to mount (10), fastened to the car floor pan
Power cable (5) is used to engage gears, while cable (6) is used only for selection.
This type of control improves manoeuvrability and reduces much of the noise and vibration transmitted by conventional rigid rods.

Control cables are similar for 899 - 1108 engines. The difference lies in a protective sheath (7) fitted to the gear engagement cable on the 899 version.
