NOTE:
NOTE:An abnormal vibration can be caused by a component, such as an engine or transaxle support insulator mount, which is acting in a rigid manner because of a distorted or twisted mounting position. As a result, the support insulator does not absorb vibration as it should.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:2.5L shown, 2.0L similar.
    Using the special tool and adaptors, support the engine.

  1. Detach the coolant expansion tank.
    • Remove the bolts.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:2.5L shown, 2.0L similar.
    Loosen the engine mount bolts.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:2.5L shown, 2.0L similar.
    Remove the air cleaner and mass air flow (MAF) sensor.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    1. Detach the intake duct.
    1. Remove the air cleaner and MAF sensor.

  1. Loosen the transaxle mount nuts.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Automatic transaxle shown, manual transaxle similar.
    Loosen the rear support insulator bolt.

  1. Remove the front support insulator.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    1. Remove the roll restrictor.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The special tool is marked with an arrow and ``Front".
    Using the special tool, align the powertrain.
    1. Install the special tool.
    1. Tighten the bolts.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:2.5L shown, 2.0L similar.
    Partially raise the powertrain to allow the mounts to move freely.

  1. Tighten the transaxle mount nuts.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:2.5L shown, 2.0L similar.
    Tighten the engine mount bolts.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:2.5L shown, 2.0L similar.
    Remove the special tool and adaptors.
    1. Lower the powertrain.
    1. Remove the special tool and adaptors.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Remove the special tool.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    1. Remove the special tool.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Automatic transaxle shown, manual transaxle similar.
    Tighten the rear roll support insulator.

  1. Install the front support insulator.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:2.5L shown, 2.0L similar.
    Install the air cleaner and MAF sensor.
    1. Install the air cleaner and MAF sensor.
    1. Connect the intake duct.
    1. Connect the electrical connectors.

  1. Install the coolant expansion tank.
