Spring Compressor

204 - 167 - 01 (14 - 042 - 01)

1. Remove the strut and spring assembly. Refer to the procedure in this section: Strut and Spring Assembly.

2. 

   WARNING:As the spring is under extreme tension care must be taken at all times. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
   Using the special tools, compress the spring.

3. Disassemble the strut and spring assembly.
   1. Remove the thrust bearing nut.
   2. Remove the top mount.
   3. Remove the thrust bearing.
   4. Remove the spring seat.
   5. Remove the spring.
   6. Remove the boot.
   7. Remove the bump stop.

   CAUTION:Make sure the spring ends butt correctly against the spring seats.
   To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
