Engine Cooling - Radiator Cougar 1999 (08/1998-01/2001)
Removal and Installation

Removal

All Vehicles
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  1. Drain the cooling system.
    For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this section.

  1. Disconnect the radiator upper coolant hose.
Vehicles with automatic transaxle

  1. Disconnect the transaxle upper cooling line.
Vehicles with 2.5L engine

  1. Disconnect the coolant expansion tank hose.
All Vehicles

  1. Remove the fan shroud nut.

  1. Detach the fan shroud and secure to one side.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.
Vehicles with air conditioning

  1. Secure the air conditioning condensor.
All Vehicles

  1. Disconnect the radiator lower coolant hose.

  1. Remove the radiator right hand bracket.
Vehicles with automatic transaxle

  1. Disconnect the transaxle lower cooling line.
Vehicles with air conditioning

  1. Detach the air conditioning condensor.
Vehicles with automatic transaxle

  1. Detach the transaxle cooling lines.
All Vehicles

  1. Remove the radiator left hand bracket and remove the radiator.

Installation

All Vehicles

  1. To Install, reverse the removal procedure.
Vehicles with automatic transaxle
  1. Fill the transaxle. For additional information, refer to Section  307-01 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle.
