Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not unscrew the connecting fitting from the transaxle housing.
    Disconnect the fluid cooler return tube from the automatic transaxle.
      NOTE:
      NOTE:Collect escaping fluid in a drain pan.
    • Unscrew the union.
    • Unclip the tube from the bracket.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not unscrew the connecting fitting from the transaxle housing.
    Disconnect the fluid cooler feed tube from the automatic transaxle.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Hold the screw connection steady.
    Remove the fluid cooler tubes (radiator shown removed).
    1. Disconnect the feed tube.
    1. Disconnect the return tube.
    • Unclip the tubes from the bracket.

Installation

  1. Install new O-ring seals.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Hold the screw connection steady.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    1. Feed tube
    1. Return tube

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not loosen the connector inlet to the transaxle.
    Position and install the lower transaxle cooling tube.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not loosen the connector inlet to the transaxle.
    Position and install the lower transaxle cooling tube.
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Use of any transmission fluid other than the recommended fluid, may cause transaxle damage.
    Check the automatic transmission fluid level. Add automatic transmission fluid. For additional information, refer to Section  307-01 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle.
