Removal and Installation
Materials
Name

Automatic transmission fluid
ESPM-2C166-H
Removal
Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section
100-02 Jacking and Lifting
.
CAUTION:
Do not unscrew the connecting fitting from the transaxle housing.
Disconnect the fluid cooler return tube from the automatic transaxle.
NOTE:
Collect escaping fluid in a drain pan.
Unscrew the union.
Unclip the tube from the bracket.
CAUTION:
Do not unscrew the connecting fitting from the transaxle housing.
Disconnect the fluid cooler feed tube from the automatic transaxle.
CAUTION:
Hold the screw connection steady.
Remove the fluid cooler tubes (radiator shown removed).
Disconnect the feed tube.
Disconnect the return tube.
Unclip the tubes from the bracket.
Installation
Install new O-ring seals.
CAUTION:
Hold the screw connection steady.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

CAUTION:
Do not loosen the connector inlet to the transaxle.
Position and install the lower transaxle cooling tube.
CAUTION:
Do not loosen the connector inlet to the transaxle.
Position and install the lower transaxle cooling tube.
CAUTION:
Use of any transmission fluid other than the recommended fluid, may cause transaxle damage.
Check the automatic transmission fluid level. Add
automatic transmission fluid
