Set NGS tester to read P_DR_LIC PID.
Does PID show "CLOSED"?
YES
REPLACE passenger side rear door open warning lamp switch. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
GO to B1566-6.
B1566-6 - Check Driver Side Rear Door Open Warning Lamp Switch

Disconnect driver side rear door open warning lamp switch.
-
Set NGS tester to read P_DR_LIC PID.
Does PID show "CLOSED"?
YES
REPLACE driver side rear door open warning lamp switch. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
SERVICE circuit 627 (BK/O) for short to ground. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.

B1687-1 - Repeat Self Test

Make sure that all switches are off.

Clear DTCs.
-
Repeat on-demand self test.
Is DTC B1687 still present?
YES
GO to B1687-3.
NO
GO to B1687-2.
B1687-2 - Check Switch
NOTE: Switch is momentary. PID will read off even if lights are on unless switch is held in.

Set NGS tester to read PID DOMESW.
-
Toggle dome lamp switch several times.
Does PID show that switch is on while it is pressed and off when released as expected?
B1687-3 - Check Switch PID

Read PID DOMESW.
Does PID show that switch is off?
YES
REPLACE headlamp switch. RETEST system.
NO
SERVICE Circuit 1034 (BK/W) for short to battery. RESTET system.
