Remove lamp housing.

Disconnect wiring.

Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and circuit 57 (BK).
Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
YES
GO to AD4.
NO
SERVICE open in circuit 57 (BK). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
AD4 - Check Circuit 53 (BK/LB)
-
Remove lamp housing.
-
Disconnect wiring.
-
Open driver door.
-
Using a voltmeter measure voltage on circuit 53 (BK/LB).
Is voltage greater than 10 volts?
YES
REPLACE courtesy lamp. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
SERVICE open in circuit 53 (BK/LB). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
AE - Front Courtesy Lamps On Continuously
Pinpoint Test AE: Front Courtesy Lamps On Continuously
AE1 - Check Lighting Operation

Open and close doors and press and release the headlamp switch.
-
Observe operation of all other courtesy lamps.
Do other lamps turn off within one minute?
YES
SERVICE short to B+ in circuit 53 (BK/LB). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
GO to Pinpoint Test AC. See: Pinpoint Tests/Courtesy Lamps/AC - Courtesy Lamps On Continuously
AF - One Or More Foot Lamps Inoperative

AF1 - Check Lighting Operation

Open and close doors and press and release the headlamp switch.

Observe the operation of all other courtesy lamps.
Do other lamps light?
YES
GO to AF2,
NO
GO to Pinpoint Test AB.
AF2 - Check Bulb
-
Remove bulb.
-
Using an ohmmeter, check continuity of bulb.
Is bulb in good condition?
YES
GO to AF3.
NO
REPLACE bulb. RETEST system.
AF3 - Check Ground
-
Disconnect wiring.
-
Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and circuit 57 (BK) wire.
Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
