Open and close hood, luggage compartment door and glove compartment door.

Observe operation of lamps.
Do other lamps light?
YES
GO to AG2.
NO
Go to Pinpoint Test AK. See: Pinpoint Tests/Courtesy Lamps/AK - All Demand Lighting Inoperative
AG2 - Check Bulb

Remove bulb.
-
Using an ohmmeter, check continuity of bulb.
Is bulb in good condition?
YES
GO to AG3.
NO
REPLACE bulb. RETEST system.
AG3 - Check Ground

Disconnect wiring.
-
Using a volt-ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and circuit 57 (BK) wire.
Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
YES
SERVICE open in circuit 53 (BK/LB). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
SERVICE open in circuit 57 (BK). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
AH - Rear Courtesy Lamps Inoperative
Pinpoint Test AH: Rear Courtesy Lamps Inoperative
AH1 - Check Lighting Operation

Open and close doors and operate the lamp switch.

Observe operation of all other courtesy lamps.
Do other lamps light?
YES
GO to AH2.
NO
GO to Pinpoint Test AB. See: Pinpoint Tests/Courtesy Lamps/AB - Courtesy Lamps Inoperative
AH2 - Check Bulb

Remove lens cover and remove bulb.

Using an ohmmeter, check continuity of bulb.
Is bulb in good condition.
YES
Go to AH3.
NO
REPLACE bulb. RETEST system.
AH3 - Ground Check

Remove lamp housing.
-
Disconnect wiring.
-
Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and circuit57 (BK) wire.
Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
