SERVICE open in circuit 57 (BK). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
AH4 - Check Circuit 53 (BK/LB)

Remove lamp housing.
-
Disconnect wiring.
-
Open driver door.
-
Using a voltmeter, measure voltage on circuit 53 (BK/LB).
Is voltage greater than 10 volts?
YES
GO to AH5.
NO
SERVICE open in circuit 53 (BK/LB). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
AH5 - Check Circuit 705 (LG/O)
-
Remove lamp housing.
-
Disconnect wiring.
-
With all doors closed, turn on the headlamp switch.
-
Using a voltmeter, measure voltage on circuit 705 (LG/O).
Is voltage greater than 10 volts?
YES
REPLACE interior lamp.
NO
SERVICE open in circuit 705 (LG/O). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
AJ - Rear Courtesy Lamps On Continuously
Pinpoint Test AJ: Rear Courtesy Lamps On Continuously
AJ1 - Check Lighting Operation

Open and close all doors and operate the headlamp switch.
-
Observe operation of all other courtesy lamps.
Do other lamps turn off within one minute?
YES
SERVICE short to B+ in circuit 53 (BK/LB). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
GO to Pinpoint Test AC. See: Pinpoint Tests/Courtesy Lamps/AC - Courtesy Lamps On Continuously
AK - All Demand Lighting Inoperative
Pinpoint Test AK: All Demand Lighting Inoperative
NOTE: Ford DOES NOT provide a procedure to perform the following pinpoint test without the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) tester
007-00500 or equivalent.
AK1 - Check Demand Lighting

Open hood and observe engine compartment lamp.
-
Open luggage compartment door and observe luggage compartment lamp.
-
Open glove compartment and observe glove compartment lamp.
-
Test each of the map and reading lamps.
-
Test each of the vanity lamps.
Do all lamps work?
YES
GO to AK9.
NO
GO to AK2.
AK2 - Check All Demand Lighting, At Least One Lamp Inoperative

Repeat Step AK1.
Are all lamps inoperative?
YES
CHECK fuse 4 (10A) Town Car or fuse 8 (15A) Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis. If fuse is OK, GO to AK3. If not, REPLACE fuse.
