CHECK bulb, switch and wiring for each of the lamps which do not work. RETEST system. Go to AK8.
AK3 - Test Courtesy Lamps

Open driver door.

Observe courtesy lamps and demand lighting as in AK1.
Do the courtesy and demand lamps turn on?
YES
GO to AK8 (Town Car) or AK12 (Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis).
NO
GO to AK4.
AK4 - Test Courtesy Lamps Demand Lamps Inoperative

Repeat AK3.
Do the courtesy lamps turn on, demand lighting does not?
YES
GO to AK6.
NO
GO to AK5.
AK5 - Test Courtesy Lamps, Neither Courtesy Lamps Or Demand Lamps Turn On

Repeat AK4.
Do neither lamps turn on?
YES
GO to Pinpoint Test AB. See: Pinpoint Tests/Courtesy Lamps/AB - Courtesy Lamps Inoperative
NO
GO to AK6.
AK6 - Check Circuit 705 (LG/Y) For Short To Ground

Disconnect LCM connectors.
-
Using a jumper, connect pin C3-11 circuit 54 (LG/Y) to pin C3-1 circuit 705 (LG/O).
Does fuse 4 (10A) for Town Car or fuse 8 (15A) for Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis open?
YES
SERVICE circuit 705 (LG/O) short to ground. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
GO to AK7.
AK7 - Test Demand Lamps Output

Disconnect connector C3 from lighting control module.
-
Using a jumper wire, short pin C3-11 to C3-1.
Do demand lamps turn on?
YES
REPLACE lighting control module. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
SERVICE circuit 705 (LG/O) for open circuit. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
AK8 - Test Demand Lamps Reset

Close all doors and luggage compartment door.
-
Make sure that ignition switch is OFF and key is out of ignition switch.
-
Disconnect hood anti-theft control switch.
NOTE: Town Car only - This is the anti-theft switch and does not turn off the engine compartment lamp.

Disconnect battery ground cable.
-
Reconnect battery ground cable.
Do demand lamps turn on?
YES
GO to AK12.
NO
GO to AK9.
