AK16 - Test Anti-Theft Disarm Switches

Request anti-theft disarm switches PID ALARMSW.

Does PID indicate switches active?

YES

SERVICE circuit 25 (DG/P) and disarm switches in both doors for short to ground.  RETEST system.

AK17 - Test Lighting Control Module

-

Disconnect connector C3 from lighting control module.

Are demand lamps on?

YES

SERVICE circuit 705 (LG/O) for short to B+.  RETEST system.

NO

REPLACE lighting control module.  RETEST system.

AL - Engine Compartment Lamp Inoperative

Pinpoint Test AL: Engine Compartment Lamp Inoperative

AL1 - Check Lighting Operation

-

Operate all other demand courtesy lamps.

-

Observe operation of all other lamps.

Do other lamps light?

YES

GO to AL2.

NO

GO to Pinpoint Test AK.  See: Pinpoint Tests/Courtesy Lamps/AK - All Demand Lighting Inoperative

AL2 - Check Bulb

-

Remove bulb.

-

Using an ohmmeter, check continuity of bulb.

Is bulb in good condition?

YES

GO to AL3.

NO

REPLACE bulb.  RETEST system.

AL3 - Check Ground

-

Disconnect wiring.

-

Using an ohmmeter measure resistance between ground and circuit 57 (BK).

Is resistance less than 5 ohms?

YES

GO to AL4.

NO

SERVICE open in circuit 57 (BK).  RESTORE vehicle.  RETEST system.

AL4 - Check Circuit 705 (LG/O)

-

Disconnect wiring.

-

Using a voltmeter check voltage of circuit 705 (LG/O).

YES

REPLACE lamp.  RESTORE vehicle.  RETEST system.

NO

SERVICE open in circuit 705 (LG/O).  RESTORE vehicle.  RETEST system.

AM - Luggage Compartment Lamp Inoperative

Pinpoint Test AM: Luggage compartment Lamp Inoperative

AM1 - Check Lighting Operation

-

Operate all other demand courtesy lamps.

-

Observe operation of all other lamps.
