About the E-250
The E-250 is the three-quarter-ton Econoline van, renamed E-Series for 1999. It sits between the E-150 and E-350 and was widely used as a heavier cargo van and as a base for conversions. Ford built the full-size vans at Lorain and Ohio Assembly, and the range was the best-selling full-size van in the United States from 1980 until the Transit took over in 2014.
What these manuals cover
- 1982–1996: the 4.9-litre straight-six, the 5.0, 5.8 and 7.5-litre petrol V8s, and the International 6.9 and 7.3-litre diesels.
- 1997–2008: the 4.2-litre V6, the 4.6 and 5.4-litre Triton V8s and the 6.8-litre V10, with the 7.3 Power Stroke diesel. The 4.6 became available on the E-250 for 2003 and standard for 2004.
Tip: if your engine isn't listed for your year, try the E-150 or E-350 manuals, which share the same engine families.
