5. Install the direct clutch return spring assembly.
NOTE: Make sure the (A) protrusions are properly engaged with the (B) lugs.
6. Using the (A) Clutch Spring Compressor, compress the (B) direct clutch return spring assembly and install the (C) direct clutch return spring
retaining ring. Remove the tool.
CAUTION: Do not fully compress the return springs or damage to spring may occur.
7. Alternately install the (A) steel and the (B) friction clutch plates, beginning with a steel plate and ending with the (C) direct clutch pressure plate.
CAUTION: Mixing or using friction plates without the grooves will cause shift concerns and can cause damage.
NOTE: The direct clutch friction plates have lube grooves in the friction material.
NOTE: The number of plates are model dependent.
