11. Remove the brake hose-to-frame bracket retaining clip. Separate the brake hose from the bracket.
12. Remove the left and right side shock absorber lower nuts. Do not remove the retaining bolts at this time.
13. Remove the supports and lower the hoist completely.
14. Remove the shock absorber lower bolts.
Disconnect the shock absorbers at the axle.
15. Raise the hoist enough to access the axle U-bolt nuts through the wheel housing.
CAUTION: The tires must remain on the ground to support the axle.
16. Support the front of the rear axle housing.
CAUTION: Prevent the front of the axle housing from dropping and the brake lines from twisting when loosening the axle U-bolts.
