Removal and Installation

Alignment Fixture, Rear Suspension

Removal

  1. Loosen the wheel nuts.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.
  1. Remove the wheel.

  1. Support the rear axle assembly.

  1. Remove the shock absorber.
    1. Remove the lower retaining bolt.
    1. Remove the upper retaining nut and bolt.

  1. Install the alignment fixture.
    1. Set the alignment fixture to 450 mm between the lines at either end.
    1. Install the alignment fixture to the shock absorber lower fixing point and align with the upper point.
    1. Secure the alignment fixture upper fixing with the shock absorber upper retaining nut and bolt.

  1. Remove the stabiliser bar dust cap.

  1. Remove the stabiliser bar spring clip.

  1. Remove the stabiliser bar.

Installation

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:If force is required to fit the stabiliser bar it is not in the correct position and should be relocated.
    Install the stabiliser bar.
    1. Locate the stabiliser bar into the connecting link.
    1. Push the bar gently to install.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The final torquing of the rear suspension components should be carried out when the vehicle weight is on the road wheels.
    Install the remaining components in reverse order.
