Acceleration Control - Accelerator Cable Adjustment—1.25L/1.4L Zetec-SE (Sigma) Fiesta 1996 (08/1995-02/2002)
General Procedures

Adjustment

WARNING:
WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and can ignite, resulting in possible personal injury
  1. Remove the intake plenum. Refer to the procedure within the section.

  1. Remove the secondary cable adjuster securing clip.

  1. Remove the primary cable adjuster securing clip.

  1. Disconnect the traction control motor multiplug.

  1. Remove the traction control motor cover.

  1. Insert the adjustment lock pin through the quadrant alignment holes.
    • Ensure the lock pin is pushed in fully.

  1. Disconnect the secondary cable from the throttle quadrant.

  1. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and hold down.

  1. Install the primary cable adjuster securing clip.

  1. Connect the secondary cable to the throttle quadrant.

  1. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and hold down.

  1. Install the secondary cable adjuster securing clip.

  1. Remove the adjustment lock pin.

  1. Install the traction control motor cover.

  1. Reconnect the traction control motor multiplug.
