Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Standard preparatory measures
    • Make a note of the radio keycode.
    • Make a note of the preset radio stations.
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Disconnect the battery negative lead.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:"Safety Precautions" and "General Requirements and Safety Measures for Maintenance and Repair Work". For additional information, refer to Section  100-00 General Information.
    Drain the air conditioning system. For additional information, refer to Section  412-00 Climate Control System - General Information.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Plug the refrigerant line and the condenser.
    Disconnect the refrigerant line at the condenser.
  1. Raise the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Plug the refrigerant line and the condenser.
    Separate the refrigerant line from the dehydrator/accumulator to the condenser at the condenser.

  1. Detach the lower radiator shroud.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Before unscrewing the radiator support, secure the radiator to the lock panel.
    Loosen the radiator support (four bolts) (right-hand side shown).

  1. Remove the condenser.
    • Unhook the condenser at the top and remove it downwards.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Fit new O-rings on the refrigerant pipes before connecting them. Lubricate the new O-rings with refrigerant oil.
    Refit the components in reverse order.
  1. Evacuate the air conditioning system and fill it. For additional information, refer to Section  412-00 Climate Control System - General Information.
  1. Connect the battery negative lead.
    • Enter the radio keycode.
    • Reprogramme the preset radio stations.
    • Reset the clock.
    • Road test the vehicle to collect data for the PCM.
  1. Check the operation of the air conditioning system.
