Removal and Installation

Removal

CAUTION:
CAUTION:When disconnecting the multiplugs during this operation, do not pull on the wiring; pull on the multiplug body.
NOTE:
NOTE:This remove and install procedure illustrates automatic transmission variant. Manual transmission variant similar.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

  1. Remove the gear knob (one screw) (automatic gear shift illustrated).

  1. Remove the gear shift cover and disconnect the gear shift illumination lamp.

  1. Remove the centre console fixing screws (four screws).
    1. Remove the blanking plugs (one either side).
    1. Remove the screws.

  1. Remove the tailgate release switch.
    • Use a pad between the screwdriver and the surround to prevent damage.
    • Disconnect the multiplug.
  1. Remove the centre console.

Installation

  1. Refit the components in reverse order.
