General notes - Depending on the damage, it is also possible to carry out a sectional replacement on the quarter panel or repair it with roof panelling sections (see Operation 44 513 0).
- Remove the following: bumper, tail lamp, tailgate seal, vent bezel, side window, trim panels, inner fender, seat cushion, rear seat backrest, seatbelt, door weatherstrip and lock striker.
- Move floor coverings and wiring away from the working area.

Quarter panel - Cut point.
- Mill out two panel thicknesses at the join between the quarter panel and the rear parcel shelf.
- Heat the area.
- Possible cutting area.
- Detach the brazing points.

Quarter panel - Before installing the new part, weld on the reinforcement plate in the area of the bumper mounting.

NOTE:Apply 2-pack metal adhesive only just immediately before installing the new part. Quarter panel - Continuous MIG seam weld.
- At the cut edge, spot weld the backing strip and continuous MIG seam weld.
- Apply 2-pack metal adhesive. Then clinch the wheel arch folded joint and resistance spot weld.
- Puddle weld.
- Braze.
