Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Remover, Oil Cooling Pipe

Removal

  1. Disconnect the hose from the fluid reservoir.
    1. Detach the reservoir.
    1. Disconnect the hose.
    • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

  1. Detach the hose from the bracket.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Remove the radiator splash shield.
    • Remove the six screws.
    • Disconnect the air temperature sensor electrical connector (if equipped).

  1. Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler hose.
    1. Insert the special tool into the hose quick - release coupling.
    1. Move the special tool along the pipe to release the locking tangs.
    • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Diesel vehicle shown, other variants similar.
    Remove the fluid cooler.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:After installation bleed the power steering system. For additional information, refer to Section  211-00 Steering System - General Information.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
