Engine - 1.6L Zetec-E (Zetec)/1.8L Zetec-E (Zetec)/2.0L Zetec-E (Zetec) - Exhaust Manifold Focus 1999 (08/1998-12/2004)
In-vehicle Repair

Removal

  1. Raise the vehicle.For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Detach the exhaust manifold bracket and disconnect the plugs for the heated oxygen sensor (H02S).
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Detach the heat shield.

  1. Detach the exhaust manifold from the catalytic converter.

  1. Detach the exhaust manifold from the cylinder head.

Installation
  1. Attach the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Renew the gasket.
    Attach the exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter.

  1. Attach the heat shield.
  1. Raise the vehicle.For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Tighten the exhaust manifold bracket and connect the HO2S plugs.
  1. Lower the vehicle.
