Removal and Installation

Removal

CAUTION:
CAUTION:Do not attempt to clean the throttle body. The bore and the throttle plate have a special coating applied during manufacture which should not be removed.
  1. Detach the air cleaner outlet tube.

  1. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector. Detach the wiring harness from the retaining clip.

  1. Detach the throttle body.

  1. Disconnect the accelerator cable.
    1. Rotate the accelerator cable.
    1. Remove the clip.
    1. Disconnect the accelerator cable.
  1. Remove the throttle body.

  1. Remove and discard the throttle body gasket.

Installation
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not attempt to clean the throttle body. The bore and the throttle plate have a special coating applied during manufacture which should not be removed.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new gasket to the throttle body.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the throttle body tightening sequence is followed correctly.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
