Removal and Installation

Removal

All Vehicles
  1. General Note
    • Operations which do not apply to all vehicles are marked clearly with a note.
Vehicles with air conditioning
  1. Use a cable tie to secure the radiator (right side shown).
All Vehicles
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Remove the radiator splash shield.
Vehicles with air conditioning
  1. Disconnect the horn electrical connector.
All Vehicles
  1. Remove the radiator bracket.
    • Unclip the air conditioning compressor clutch cable.

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Whenever releasing the transaxle cooling system fluid, prevent of fluid scalding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Whenever the fluid cooler tubes are disconnected the ports should be plugged to prevent dirt from entering.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Mark the position of the feed and return hose.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Collect escaping fluid in a drain pan.
    Disconnect the feed and return hose from the transmission fluid cooler.
Vehicles with air conditioning
  1. Remove the air conditioning condensor from the bracket.
    • Move to one side.
All Vehicles
  1. Remove the transmission fluid cooler from the two right-hand and the one left-hand bracket (left-hand side shown).

Installation

All Vehicles
  1. General note
    • Only use new self-locking nuts.

  1. Install the transmission fluid cooler to two right-hand and the one left-hand brackets.
Vehicles with air conditioning
  1. Install the air conditioning condensor.
All Vehicles
  1. Install the radiator bracket.
    • Clip the air conditioning compressor clutch cable.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Position marks.
    Connect the feed and return hose.
Vehicles with air conditioning
  1. Connect the horn electrical connector.
All Vehicles
  1. Install the radiator splash shield.

  1. Remove the cable ties from the radiator (right-hand side shown).
  1. Lower the vehicle.
  1. Check the automatic transmission fluid level and fill if necessary.
