NOTE:The exhaust system is of one piece construction for production, and three piece construction for service exhaust systems. It is necessary to cut the production exhaust system to enable the service section to be fitted. Before cutting any part of the exhaust system, make sure to check the position of the cut is correct in comparison to the service sections to be installed. | | -
CAUTION:Excessive bending of the flexible pipe may cause damage resulting in failure. Support the flexible pipe with a support wrap or suitable splint. | | -
Remove the ground cover heat shield. | | -
Remove the catalytic converter. - Detach the hanger insulators.
- Remove the catalytic converter.

Assemble the catalytic converter service sections. | | -
CAUTION:The hanger insulators are constructed from a special material. Use only correct specification insulators. Position the catalytic converter. - Use a new gasket and nuts, hand tighten the nuts.
- Check the hanger insulator for damage and fatigue. Install new hangers as required.
- When installing hanger insulators, use Lubricant meeting Ford specification.
