General Procedures

All Vehicles
NOTE:
NOTE:The templates for right-hand drive and left-hand drive vehicles are not interchangeable. The templates for the right-hand headlamp and left-hand headlamp are not interchangeable.
  1. Print out the correct templates at the end of this work instruction.
  1. Measure the X measurement on the printed template.
  1. Calculate the enlargement/reduction factor Y for the photocopier using the formula: Y=Z÷X×100.
    • X = measurement on the printed template in millimeters
    • Y = enlargement/reduction factor in percent.
    • Z = original measurement in millimeters = 25
  1. Photocopy the printed templates with the calculated enlargement/reduction factor.
    • Compare the X measurement on the photocopy with the original measurement.
  1. Cut out the prepared templates for the headlamps.
  1. Cut out the hatched areas.
Left-hand drive vehicles
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Right-hand headlamp only.
    Place the template onto the headlamp lens and align.
    1. Upper headlamp lens alignment line
    1. Side headlamp lens alignment line
    1. Lower headlamp lens alignment line

    Place the template onto the headlamp lens and align.

Right-hand drive vehicles
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Right-hand headlamp only.
    Place the template onto the headlamp lens and align.

    Place the template onto the headlamp lens and align.

All Vehicles
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the headlamp lens is not scrached.
    Copy the template outline to the headlamp lens using a suitable marker pen.
  1. Remove the template.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure not to exceed the area contours when masking the headlamps.
    Cover the marked area with a black opaque adhesive tape.
  1. Repeat operations 11 to 13 for the other headlamp.
  1. Template for left-hand drive vehicles, right-hand headlamp.
