Rear Window Wiper Motor Replacement

Wipers and Washers - Rear Window Wiper Motor Focus 1999 (08/1998-12/2004)
Removal and Installation

Removal

CAUTION:
CAUTION:Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that the wiper motor is in park position.
    Remove the wiper arm.
    • Lift up the plastic cap and loosen the nut approx. two turns.
    • Lift the wiper arm and release them from the taper by moving them to one side.
    • Remove the nut and the wiper arm.

  1. Detach the cover.
    • Remove two bolts.
    • Unclip ten clips.

  1. Remove the wiper motor.
    1. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.
    1. Remove the ground lead.
    • Remove three bolts.

  1. Remove the wiper motor from the bracket.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that the wiper motor is in the parked position.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Check operation of wipers.
