General Equipment
Transmission jack
Removal
Remove the spring. For additional information, refer to: (204-02 Rear Suspension)
Spring - Vehicles Built Up To: 07/2004 (Removal and Installation),
Spring - Vehicles Built Up To: 07/2004 (Removal and Installation).
Fabricate a 20 mm wide by 113 mm long spacer.
CAUTION:
The suspension must be set to the design height setting.
Using a
transmission jack
and a wooden block, raise the suspension to the design height setting.
Position the
transmission jack
and the wooden block as shown.
NOTE:
The spacer must be positioned exactly as shown.
Install the spacer.
Remove the bump stop.
Install the spacer between the rear lower arm and the rear axle crossmember making sure that the spacer is in a vertical plane.
Detach the upper arm from the wheel knuckle.
NOTE:
Make a note of the position of the upper arm to aid installation.
Remove the upper arm.
Installation
Install the upper arm to the rear axle crossmember.
Attach the upper arm to the wheel knuckle.
Lower the suspension from the design height setting.
Remove the spacer.
Install the bump stop.
Install the spring. For additional information, refer to: (204-02 Rear Suspension)
