Removal

  1. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
    For additional information, refer to Crankshaft Pulley in this section.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Detach the air conditioning compressor (A/C compressor) cover.

  1. Detach the A/C compressor and secure it to one side.

  1. Remove the engine front cover lower retaining bolts.

  1. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Remove the drive belt tensioner.

  1. Detach the coolant expansion tank and lay it to one side.

  1. Remove the coolant pump pulley.
  1. Support the engine with a vehicle jack.

  1. Detach the A/C compressor line bracket from the engine front mount.

  1. Remove the engine front mount nuts/bolts.
    • Discard the nuts.

  1. Remove the engine front mount studs.
  1. Remove the engine front mount.

  1. Remove the engine front cover upper bolts.
    • Remove the engine front cover.

Installation

  1. Clean the engine front cover mating faces.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install the engine front cover within 10 minutes of applying the silicon sealer.
    Apply sealer to the engine front cover (bead diameter: 3 mm).

  1. Install the engine front cover (engine shown removed for clarity).
    • Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.
    • Tighten bolts 1 through 8 to 10 Nm.
    • Tighten the bolt 9 to 48 Nm.
    • Tighten bolts 10 through 19 to 10 Nm.
    • Tighten bolts 20 through 22 to 48 Nm.
  1. Install the engine front mount.

  1. Install the engine front mount studs.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new engine front mount nuts.
    Install the engine front mount nuts/bolts.

  1. Attach the A/C line bracket to the engine front mount.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Attach the air conditioning compressor (A/C compressor) cover.

  1. Attach the A/C compressor.

  1. Connect the electrical connector for the crankshaft position sensor (CKP sensor).
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Install the coolant pump pulley.

  1. Install the coolant expansion tank.

  1. Install the drive belt tensioner.
  1. Install the crankshaft pulley.
