Diagnosis and Testing

Inspection and Verification

  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the transaxle.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical damage.

Visual Inspection Chart

Mechanical
  • Feed and return tubes
  • Connections to the automatic transaxle and the automatic transmission fluid cooler
  • Automatic transmission fluid level
  1. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  1. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to the Symptom Chart.
CAUTION:
CAUTION:Do not overtighten cooler line fittings. Case of fitting damage may result.
CAUTION:
CAUTION:Do not repair a leak through tightening more as the required torque in the specification.
