Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable(s). For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the hood latch.

  1. Detach the battery junction box (BJB) from the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement.

  1. Remove the battery front side cover.

  1. Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connectors.
    • Detach the electrical connectors from the fan shroud.

  1. Detach the air conditioning line from the cooling fan shroud.

  1. Remove the cooling fan shroud left-hand retaining nut.

  1. Remove the cooling fan shroud right-hand retaining nut.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Detach the secondary air filter from the retaining bracket.

  1. Disconnect the secondary air pump electrical connector.

  1. Remove the secondary air pump retaining bracket bolts.

  1. Disconnect the secondary air pipe and remove the secondary air pump. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00 Fuel System - General Information.

  1. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
